June 21, 2008
The Rangers play to shed 54 million dollars of sallary cap and plan to rebuild with new management.
The plan to send the folowing players to Philadelphia Phillie
ZamBrano SP (94)
Michael Young SS (90)
Frank Catalanotto LF (73)
Vicente Padilla SP (78)
Jamey Wright SP (75)
Akinori Otsuka RP (84,85)
Plus 10 Million Dollars

In exchange Texas Rangers gets the following future prospects:
Crack Head 2B 73,94
Ryan Roster LF 71,86
Matt Joyce LF 73,83
Jordan Tata SP 84,88

Jordan Tata will be put into the Rangers Starting line up along with Matt Joyce LF being called up for some major league action.
When talking with the Rangers new GM, he stated that Texas was spending too much money on players to be in last place if their division and decided enough was enough and worked out a deal with Philly to shed 54 million in cap to begin the rebuilding effort.
All this still pending the commishiners review.
Rangers hated to part with Michael Young and wish him the best. We think he can win a chapionship this year with his new team.

The Rangers will be playing alot of dfferent players for the rest of the year to see how the can handle the big leagues. We are excited about some new young tallent comming up and still looking for other deals that will benifits us in the near future.

PostSubject: Arlington News June Update   Arlington News Icon_minitimeFri Apr 18, 2008 7:57 pm

Texas Rangers moves out of the bottom of the American League West division
and now in 3rd place after going 14-13 in the month of June and 3-2 to start July.
The Rangers had 2 key players get injured in Bobby Abreu and Closer C.J Wilson.
Although Abreu is having a pretty good year we will rest hhim for a few more days
after comming of his injury.
C.J Wilsons injury will likely cause him to miss the rest of July, so the Rangers move
Benoit to up to be th Closer for July.
Jordan Tata has pitched very well after being traded to the Rangers.
In 3 starts he has 2 wins and 0 losses, posting a 2.05 era.

Stay tuned as the Rangers move their line up around seeing what some of their
young talent is capable of.

PostSubject: July Outlook   Arlington News Icon_minitimeFri Apr 18, 2008 8:13 pm

Texas Rangers July Outlook.

July looks rough for the Texas Rangers. They play some of the top teams
in baseball today. We are very happy to win 2 of 3 from the Athletics and go into the
rubber match with the Orioles.
Then its back home to play the Yankees in a 3 game set before the allstar break.
After the break we head to Los Angeles to play the 1st place Angels in a 4 game set.
It doesn't stop there. We then come back home for 3 against the Redsox, which is in 1st place
of the East. It gets tougher when the Angels come in town for a 4 game set.
Is the month over yet? No we still have to Play the Devil Rays for 4 games and the Yankees
3 more times.
Rangers have the toughest schedule in baseball for the month of July.
We are fixing to see what are young kids really have and how they handle the
elite teams in the league.

PostSubject: Rangers Update after Sim8   Arlington News Icon_minitimeSat Apr 19, 2008 7:21 pm

Ranger now 6-8 in the month of July.

SP Poveda will probably miss his next 2 starts as he has a lower back spain and is out for
4 day. The Rangers call up Gallaraga to take his place and give him so time to recover fully.
They also call up RP Rupe and send back to the minors Littleton.

Bobby Abreu continues to lead the Rangers w/ a .315 batting average and .387 oba.
Bobby also reached a milestone on July 3 against the Athletics, he had his 1000 RBI.

Matt Joyce since being called up, for 12 games is hitting a respectable .275 w/ .383 OBA.
He is showing he has major league potential and hopes that he can continue to improve.

With you catcher Teagarden begining to struggle, the Rangers send him back down to the minors
and breng up another youngster in Rameriz to fill in and get some playing time.

PostSubject: Update Before Trading Dealine Sim 10   Arlington News Icon_minitimeSat Apr 19, 2008 9:53 pm

Rangers now 10-16 for July. With the trading deadline one day away the Rangers hold fast and make
no more trades.
Over the last few weeks some of the Rangers got banged up but nothing major.
Murphy CF - Sore Back out for 5 more days.
Joyce LF - Hip Pointer out 4 more days - Sent back to minors and Called up Cruz to see what he can do.
Ramirez C - Chipped knee cap out 9 more days - Sent back to minors and called back up Teagarden.

Rangers SP Poveda and Closer Wilson comes back into the starting rotation after missing some days with nagging injuries.
Rangers send Rupe and Gallarraga back to the minors.
Rangers like to congratulate Gallarraga for he's great pitching in Poveda's absence. Starting 2 games and winning
both games posting a 2.84 era pitching 12.2 innings. He will definately see some more action this year.

PostSubject: July 31 - Aug 13 Update a Must Read   Arlington News Icon_minitimeThu Apr 24, 2008 8:30 pm

Rangers 7-31 thru 8-13 Update.

The Rangers have gone 5-8 over the last 13 games. Which we feel is not to bad
considering the strong teams we were playing.

Pitcher Blake Beaven suffered a mild seperated shoulder Aug 12th in a lose to Boston.
He has been put on the DL and Rangers give another call to Galarraga to fill in the role
of the 5th starter.

#1 Starter Poveda has a twisted ankle but is not expected to miss his next start.

Catcher Teagarden has a mild elbow inflamation and was sent down to the minors to heal,
while Ramirez is called back up to platoon the catching duties.

CF Murphy has recovered from a mild injury and will return to action Aug 14th against
the Red Sox.

Struggling CF Cruz is sent back to the minors and the Rangers call up 19 year old
rookie 2B Crack Head.

Starting SS Arias has a stained ankle and should only miss 1 more game. But we feel we
should give him some much needed rest and move Kinsler to SS and Crack Head to 2B.

Crack Head will make his major league debut AUg 14 against the Red Sox. Will he come
out smoking or will he be headed back to the minors to get his fix?

PostSubject: April 29, 2009   Arlington News Icon_minitimeFri May 30, 2008 8:05 pm

For the month of April the Rangers have gone 14-12, just 1 game back of the
American League West leaders, Angels, and A's.
Hopefully we can keep the momentum going, which is going to be tough.
The Rangers have had some key injuries and 3 of them starting pictures but they should not be out very long.
Here is a list of the injuries to date and how long before they return:

David Murphy CF out 12 more days with broken collar bone.
Victor Diaz RF out 4 more days stetched ankle ligament.
Omar Poveda out 5 more days broken finger.
Jeremey Guthrie out 9 more days hand stress fracture.
Blake Beavan out 5 more days hip stress fracture.

Its going to be tough as the Rangers next 10 out of 13 games is againg the 1st place Angels and A's.

Last years American league rookie of the year as started off slow only hitting .211 with 6 hr and 27 rbi's.
He has been taking extra batting practice and we expect him to start heating up in May.

Abreu leads the team hitting .341
Volquez leads the pitchers w/ 3.47 era
CJ Wilsonhas 8 saves and releif pitcher Benoits leads the team in wins w/ 3.
